The Harp Group acquired the 285-room Ambassador East Hotel and Pump Room restaurant in December of 2005.

The Ambassador East Hotel and Pump Room are located within Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast neighborhood surrounded by a mix of single family homes, condominiums, apartments, retail shops, restaurants and bars. The property has a spectacular location and continues to be regarded as one of Chicago’s finest addresses, facing south on Goethe and west on North State Parkway giving most of the hotel rooms views of Lake Michigan. The acquisition of the hotel and restaurant was only the beginning phase of this project and will continue with extensive renovations to the hotel’s lobby, guestrooms, meeting space and the Pump Room.

The interior renovation plans for both the hotel and restaurant are currently being developed and designed by Anderson / Miller, Ltd. and The Johnson Studio, respectively, to create the updated and sophisticated environment the property deserves.

The Ambassador East and Pump Room is currently being managed by The Harp Group’s affiliated management company, Portfolio Hotels & Resorts, with the sales and marketing services of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
